Mary-Lynn, is working on a beautiful quilt. She wants to make sure she gets it right! Hannah is working on putting it together. Christmas backpacks for give-away. Another new volunteer. Welcome Opal! Some of our guests. Carol-Ann giving our plants a little TLC! We all need hugs sometimes. Grateful to our community support teams. A new freezer thanks to a private donor.
Picking strawberries, making Rhubarb Pies, shelling peas-have all been a part of our busy summer!
In October we started serving warm drinks and cookies at the door. It has been great getting to know people by their first names and the needs of the community. We also started baking for the Food Bank and have our own little boxes and labels!
We began this journey on September 13th and are almost 2 months in. What an adventure and blessing it has been. We have been very busy training staff and new participants. There is a beautiful spirit of camaraderie and we are having so much fun together. Come and join us!
Our sign is up and all is in place to begin this new and exciting adventure. Come join us or just stop in to see what we are doing.
We have rented 599 Talbot St. in St. Thomas and will be in there on June 1st. If anyone would like to come and help us clean up and decorate, you will be most welcome.
These buns are a Serbian specialty which my husband’s aunt taught me to make when she was here for our son’s wedding. They are not a croissant but they are rolled up like one. Delicious fresh from the oven or later, too. I have brought these to Inn Out of the Cold. No complaints yet!
Here is a quilt made from the scraps of scraps! It’s amazing how much you can get from these little pieces. “Gather up the fragments that…nothing be lost.” John 6:12
There were a number of flannelette scraps that were the bag. Here is a small, soft baby quilt!
My sister gave me a bag of scraps from her many sewing and quilting projects. In it were lots of cut squares which I started arranging by theme and colour. Here is the first one that came together; a nice boy’s quilt.
